Was looking over at Bladetech today for a A1 holsters and found that they have some nice looking tactical thigh holsters for the A1 (well, its says "M9A1"). Has anyone ever own a tactical thigh holster from Bladetech or one similar?

See this link for info on the holster:

Nice looking holsters. I don't have the Kydex, but have some from Blackhawk that are very good. You could probably get Blackhawk for a Sig 228/9 that would fit our Steyrs......

Have you actually tried this?

I've seen that with leather holsters there is sometimes more flexibility, and they have more of a range of guns that will "fit", but with Kydex (or "thermaplastic, in the Baldetech case) I have not had any luck fitting any gun other than the one it was made for.
I have the Omega series fabric based, very high quality, they are more generic, and a Sig 228/9 should be the same for a Steyr.....but I haven't needed one for that short a pistol....mine fit the HK 45 and Glock 21, even though one says Glock it fits the large HK pistols......check their return policy.......
