Howdy Y'all :)

I just gotta Remington 7400 chambered for the 308 Win cartridge and I need a decent scope for it. I haven't been in the scope-loop for a while and rather than just surf through the Internet huntin' one up, I'd rather just ask my Mates at the Pub. Whataya think, Guys?...Who makes the best bang for your buck scope in the $250-$350 range for out ta say 300 yards for a 308 Winchester semiautomatic hunting rifle with a 22" barrel? Help me out here. Thanx and hava great week.

Wulf, I recently got a .308 savage to do some long ranging. DEFINITELY look at Mueller scopes. muelleroptics.com
I put a 3x9x40 on my ar, I love it. The prices are unbeatable. They are a smaller company, but slowly gaining respect for their product. They sell them super cheap because they do not advertise. At all. Look at their reviews page, they are starting to really get some respect. If you want to hold out until this weekend I will get my 8.5x25x50, and will let you know how it is. If your in CO, Im in Kiowa, I'll let you shoot through it. I've been researching scope for about 6 months now, and Mueller fits your cost, but has the quality of a much more expensive scope. Give them a serious look.

The Bushnell Trophy and even better Elite scopes are hard to beat for the money. For a REAL bargain/great scope, check out the discontinued Simmons 44 Mag series. Natchez has them on close out. They also sell the Bushnell Elite scopes at a unadvertised price, call them for the price.

CDNN also sells some GREAT scopes on closeout. Nikon and Doctor Optic.

Hi Guys :)

Thanx for all your help. After lookin' around, I found a sweet deal on a Nikon Prostaff 3-9X50 for $149 to my door. I couldn't pass it up. The Muellers looked very intriguing but I'm really not wanting to hafta put a battery in my scope. <shrug> I'll mostly just be shooting targets from a bench at 1-300 yards. Anyway, thanx again for all your help. Hava great weekend.
