I put together an 11" AR-15 upper yesterday and today took it to the range, along with the AUG.

As you can see in the pic, with the stock opened the AR is a couple of inches longer despite the 5" shorter barrel.

According to my Chrony studies, the 11" barrel loses about 150fps compared to the 16", so the AUG has a clear edge in that department as expected.
So you get more punch in a smaller packet. Obviously nothing new to anyone here...

Otherwise it's mostly a matter of taste and a bit of an apples and oranges situation maybe. So best to have both. Shorty ARs are just fun

Maybe they're come out with an Aug for closer to the same price of an AR......... :roll: It would be nice to be able to shoot lefty without getting a nose full of blow-back............. :?

Nice rifles and cool video. Are you military or LE? I'm always amazed when I see Europeans with handguns or tactical rifles. I have this idea that Europe (except Switzerland) is one step beyond California and Massachusetts when it comes to firearms restrictions. Big ups to Finland if you're not that way. Later,

Nope, I'm just a gun nut... ahem, enthusiast :lol:
Many European countries have some restrictions, but Great Britain is about the only country around here with any kind of total ban.
Here in Finland we currently have things pretty good... just hoping it'll stay that way
