One of the stores here in Canada has one for $5500 CND... anyone here has one? what's the recoul like? never shot a .50 bmg must be a hoot....
raisehal please would be post some pics of your rifle. i am in the process of importing one into my country for myself, there is little info and pics of this rifle and i am most interested in seeing more quality pics. if you would rather email tem then post on this forum my email is: [email protected] thanks for your time and congrats on an awesome rifle
Recoil is like a .243 Winchester with the very effective muzzle brake. Without the muzzle brake it will brake your shoulders.... Some pictures can be found at: http://www.steyr-arms.at/index.php?id=83
Left handed rifle shooter -- right handed (but left eye dominant) pistol shooter. One of my AR-15s is even a lefty...love it!
thanks flyandscuba, i'm pushing around the idea for the son's and i to each throw in $500 and purchase one of these hs-50 for a family fun machine. hell , take her to the range, charge $ 10 for one shoot and a picture ...what a better way to meet people, share the steyr experience and recap the cost of ammo!
flyandscuba, i guess leupold would be the scope most likely to considered? on a weapon this top rate why go cheap?
I use a Leupold Mk4 16x40mm LR/T MilDot on my HS50 - Very rugged with very few moving parts when compared to variable scopes.
thanks for the tip on the leupold scope. unfortunately i doubt i'll beable to find a range in florida short of using the national guard training facility where the distances will require the need for a top shelf powered scope. mighty difficult to find extreme distances here in the southeast to reach full potential. though th need for a well built scope will be a necessary though many have stated the recoil of this weapon is likened to a caliber .243.
