Does anyone have any ideas how to mount a tactical light on an AUG? I am interested in specific mounts that might fit an AUG and any ideas would be appreciated.

    thanks!

If you have a A2 with the picatinny rail you can use a angle mount which will place the light so that it will not obstruct your sights.

Search the net with "picatinny angle mount" or check if these would work: (Dovetail angle mounts) http://www.uws.com/YANKEEHILL/HomePage.html

Thanks. I have a USR, but I prefer to keep it with the factory optic. I could swear that I saw something that clamps around the front leg of the scopemount. But I cannot seem to find it or a reference to it. If I can find a picture I will post it.

    Thanks MrApathy.

That is exactly the unit I saw somewhere. At $441 retail, I think I will pass--at least for now.

And I agree to avoid any barrel clamps.

    Okey then, next try: http://www.uws.com/YANKEEHILL/9464.html

Get a picatinny rail and have a gunsmith bolt it to your receiver or stock. The link has a 3" version but even shorter should do (well, depends on the lights mount really). Of course this is not an option for gun safe queens. ;)
