I've never shot it from a Steyr, but I do think the round has a lot more pronounced recoil than most other hollowpoints I've shot in .40. I opt to go for a newer/softer round in .40 (RA40T for me). Just my $.02
VERY pronounced recoil out of the M40 compared tho WWB. I also tried the silvertips out of my CX4 carbine at 50 and 70 yds and it hates em. Made an embarassing group. I guess maybe the big hollow point combined with the increased muzzle velocity from a 16.5 inch barrel makes em go all squirrelly. Switched back to WWB 180gr jhp and at 50 yds it grouped a 2 inch pattern an inch low. Kinda glad it likes the $13 box and not the $26 box.
