Use only non-linting materials to clean the striker or firing pin channel in actually any weapon. Lint can cause light strikes by itself, and with dirt, it can really muck things up. Coffee filters or Chem-X filters are non-woven materials which will clean well and not leave fibers behind. Cut...

Just wondering what way people store their firearms, if they dry fire them before putting into their gun safe(if they don't have exposed hammer), use snap caps or leave them cocked? For most firearms here in the UK this isn't such an issue as rifles are supposed to have bolt removed and stored...

First off, thanks to ThorInc for inspiring me to finally... bite the bullet? Drop the hammer? Or some other appropriate saying meaning "to stop being a wuss and just buy a damn Steyr." :) I'd been following the M9 for many moons and decided that when I finally got my firearms license, it was...

a shotgun for home defense and for the wifey when I'm away. I'm leaning towards a Saiga 12 ga. that I would like to get a pistol grip, stock and possibly a 20 round drum for it. :) The local shop has a Izhmash with a 19" barrel for $670. If I pay cash I can probably get them down a little...

Forgive me if this has been posted before. From Vol 66, Issue 14, pg. 32 of Shotgun News, under the article "Pistols of the 2012 IWA Show": "Steyr is Back. The Steyr Model M has been revamped and the result is a slightly larger pistol. It is called the Steyr Model L-A1 Full Size Service...

  10. Competition Shooting
Have been hitting 3G matches when I can, and my M9A1 has been along for the ride. I'm using 17 rd Steyr mags for this. Pistol is de-emphasized in these matches; while my IPSC skills help me make up time against the average 3-gunners, it's my CQB rifle and my shotgun reloading skills that need...

Hello all! I recently aquired a Steyr side by side shotgun, perhaps made in the 1920's. How do I find out more about this gun? I'd like to know when it was made, and what it might be worth. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

an antiquated old coot named Elmer Keith derided the term "maximum load" . he thought, rightly so i believe, they should have been termed "dangerous load". the most accurate loads are usually not the most powerful loads but usually moderate loads. of course i am speaking in broad very open...
