Are the .40 and .357 magazines interchangeable? Or can you use one for the other, but not the other way around? I have both M40 and S40, and wonder what else will work. I know the M40 mags fit and work in the S40, but sticks out a fair bit. Also, do any other manufacturers magazines fit and...

Steyr Club- I just wanted to say that this is an awesome resource site! I've been cruising the forums since last February-March after I had tried out an older M40-A1 at the Military Gun Club (the only place those of us stationed abroad (specifically Europe) can shoot, aside from our yearly...

Just joined up so I could show you guys this. Hopefully it helps out as I know there are a lot of people having issues with these first generation stocks. Purchased my 7mm-08 from a pawn shop for $450, took it home and immidiately noticed the flexibility of the front portion of the stock. The...

New member to the forum. Been shooting all my life and have had my M9. It's by far the best I've shot but takes a little to get used to. Now I almost prefer the tap sights and how the slide draws your eye to the sight over anything else. There are bigger and nicer "fancy" firearms but the...

So, I went into a local pawn shop yesterday to trade my Glock 19 Gen4 in for a S&W M&P 9mm. I was just about to purchase when the guy i buy all my guns from asked me to hold this funky looking pistol.I said "man, i don't know" and then the gun hit the palm of my hand! Allow me to preface that...

Hey guys, I'm new to the steyr world and just recently to her to the range. I bought reloads that looked super clean, but the Steyr just did not like them. The casing weren't totally ejecting and I had to pull the unfired round that was butted up to the shell. Scary stuff!! I'm also very new to...
  7. Caracal C and F Series
As my introduction post says, I am looking into getting a Caracal, specifically the Caracal C. My only hang up is I can not seem to find one locally to become aquainted with before purchasing. I have very small hands (XS size glove) and many grips which are fine for most are too large for me. I...

be aware that I had an unwanted discharge from my Caracal C after it fell from waist height position onto a cement floor. the gun impacted the on the rear of the gun and a round was discharged. As far as I know this should never happen because of the safeties, somehow they didn't work as planned.

Many of you saw my first attempt here to review these pistols; well I re-shot it so hopefully it's a little smoother of a presentation... I've often posted here with high praise for the Caracal pistols so I figured I'd knock out a review of the guns with the Caracal C going first. The C model...

Hello everybody. I am a FNG to the site. I was a previous Aug owner back in the 90's. Do to a relationship ending, I had to sell my Aug to make ends meet. Now almost 20 years later I am rebuilding my collection. A year or so ago, I purchased a MSAR E-4 to replace my Aug. I really like the MSAR...

I picked up my new M9 (one of the Redmond, WA versions)as well as some Tula ammo (aluminum case) and some of my reloads from 1995. The gun is a great fit in my hand and it was quite pleasant to shoot. The Tula ammo didn't do well - 4 FTEs out of 50. The reloads, on the other hand, fed...

Hey guys this is my first post here at steyrclub i am wondering if somebody can share some insight into some problems my new m40 has. I used to own a m40-a1 about six years ago but I had to sell it a few years back. It was the most reliable semi auto pistol I have owned with absolutely no...

A while ago I bought a Steyr GB online and in my haste to own one of these beauties, I might have got suckered. Starting with an unloaded gun: If I lock the slide back and then release it forward, the hammer follows !! Is this a fullauto situation waiting to happen ? I have not shot it yet. If I...

Hi there, a couple of weeks ago I started shooting a bit to the left. So naturally I thought "need to work on the fundamentals again!"... and so I did... aaaaand nothing... still to the left. I never doubt the sights of the gun but yesterday I went to the range to do some basic drills and still...

Hello all, I just joined the forum. I also just purchased a new Tactical Scout. I had a Jeff Cooper Scout and sold it recently:cuss:. I have been kicking myself ever since. So, I righted the wrong and bought a Tactical Elite. Wow! I am impressed. I had to really work to get a good load for the...

Hi guys I'm new to this forum. I recently bought a Steyr M9-A1 from a local dealer. The serial number shows its a newer model. I've been having a issue since day one where I pull the trigger and nothing happens. I keep pulling it, up to 4 times, and then bang the gun goes off. I've called steyr...

hello everybody, after a long wait we finally got our new old M-9 out of the military depot in the domenican republic. it had the slightest corrosion and came with one 10-round magazine, which should be sufficient for self-defence. luckily some soldier sold us 100 rounds of aguilla 124grain luger...
  19. Caracal C and F Series
Finally made up my mind to get one. Will be EDC if it is as reliable as reputed. I need to choose between F and C, normal sights. Size is not an issue. Trigger reset is. I prefer shorter reset. Can you guide me as to if the F really has a trigger reset as bad as sometimes reported?

I've shot a lot of AKs in my day and (as long as they're properly assembled) they're all great rifles. From my $400 WASRs to this AK-103K, they do what they were designed to do––-get rounds downrange reliably while being capable of withstanding abuse that would deadline most other rifle...
