Purchased a M40-A1 last February, and finally made it to the range yesterday. Was a bit hesitant on purchasing this pistol because of problems fully explored on this forum.
Happy, and relieved to report that the pistol functioned perfectly. Only had time to fire about 50 rounds (I...
TL,DR: I need a barrel for the Steyr M9 that is >6" and makes the overall length of the handgun >10.5". Do they make those?
Hi guys, I live in the great People's Republic of California, where we have a roster of approved handguns. Because this requires the manufacturer to submit numerous...
Hello, just joined up! Been wanting to get my hands on one for awhile. At the local indoor shooting range the other day, they had one for a rental...the wife tried it and liked it so guess what...found one on buds today, should be here in a few days.:) Cant wait to put some lead down range.
So last night, I went on a board and someone showed how to modify Browning High Power magazines to be used in the M9/S9 and was wondering if the same would be possible for the M40/S40. I'd seen a thread talking about M&P magazines being a possibility or XD as well. Has anyone done this? 12...
Hey all, happy Easter and hope you're having a good one.
I had some down-time between; church, eating, hanging out etc.
Soooo I decided to swap on a Blackhawk stock/forend set on my Remy 870 clone (H&R or New England Firearms- Partner pump 12g)
It makes SUCH a drastic difference to handling...
Totally enthused by Uncle Ted!!!
....even before "Catch Scratch Fever"!
Almost past-time ta get involved, SC Bros?!
Wulf <-- thinkin', "Ted, Bro!...I'm not worthy...."
So I shot my Steyr M40 A1 for the second time today. I have shelved it and the rest of my guns because of the Ammo debacle! Anyhow I finished up teaching my NRA course and shot only about 15 rounds through it...Man I am sold!!! The gun is so under rated!!! I love the sights to. Really easy...
Hi Guys :)
Here's a nice intro for the newest Steyr pistol from the 2013 SHOT Show on Youtube:
Our Across-the-Pond Bro, Herr Erwin Derntl does a great job!
Wulf <-- Erwin said, "357 SIG"! ... I love ya, Man.
after 2 sessions full of extraction problems i finally got a replacement extractor from steyr. i did not get a new spring set up. put the new extractor in and today had zero problems with 200 rounds fired. i was getting pretty frustrated.
im a happy guy now and my steyr is working great and...
I love my M9A1, but the thin plastic basepad on the 17rd mags is weak. I'm not sure how much abuse they will take, like being stepped on during IDPA matches. If I have black anodized aluminum replacement pads made, would anyone else be interested?
Hey guys, just signed up after owning an s9 for a while now. Been shooting it and have had MANY FTE's, stovepipes and FTF's. I thought it was just a matter of time and breakin period. Today I went to the range and shot out of 1 of the original 10 rounders and used (3) 17 rounders, two of which...
Back around 1981 or so I fell in love with the Steyr GB...a MAjOR purchase for a grad student. fixed chrome barrel, blowback design, super-accurate for me, massive mag capacity for the time, in the running to be the U.S military sidearm, then got politicked out by Italy and...
I have a Steyr M9a1 with the date code IOW (Sept. 2010). I have not shot the pistol much but my friend is going to use it for a multi-day handgun course.
Is there any way to tell if my gun has the updated extractor? I would just hate for it to be a problem mid-course.
I am also...
Newbie goes and buys a C9-A1 for wife to use (and of course me).
Newbie falls in love and allows a M9-A1 to follow me home last week.
Sigh. I haven't shot it yet, but I did break it down and clean her all up for this week. I can't wait.
Hi guys new here and looking at my first Steyr.
I've had a fullsize 1911 for a while and recently acquired my CHL. I've been carrying my 1911 and I actually conceal it quite well for it's size, but ultimately started to think about what ifs and started to feel like something with a little more...
Hello everyone, obviously I'm a new guy here. Originally from Missouri, stationed in Kansas, deployed to Afghanistan. I own a M40-A1 and it's one of the nicest pistols I've shot. I'm really looking forward to learning from the wealth of knowledge available from here.
I think an S45A1 or M45A1 might be next on my list if they came out with 1. I really don't know if it could beat my S40A1 but I would give it a shot, I always wanted a 45 and on a Steyr platform I could see that being a top shooter
