Greetings, Purchased a M40-A1 last February, and finally made it to the range yesterday. Was a bit hesitant on purchasing this pistol because of problems fully explored on this forum. Happy, and relieved to report that the pistol functioned perfectly. Only had time to fire about 50 rounds (I...

TL,DR: I need a barrel for the Steyr M9 that is >6" and makes the overall length of the handgun >10.5". Do they make those? Hi guys, I live in the great People's Republic of California, where we have a roster of approved handguns. Because this requires the manufacturer to submit numerous...

Hi folks, brand new to the club but I've been trying to track down a M9-A1 for a little while now and have a question. The pistol I'm considering appears to be a Gen2? M9-A1 model with date stamp: P0Y, I believe if I've read that right it would be an August 2007 production date. Here's a pic...

Picked up an ffl transfer of a zastava m57, new production version.....while doing my 4473 form I look down and see a fnh fns. This pistol had never caught my eye befire. So I ask the gunstore counter man if I can see it. Played with it and I got to say it is one seriously overlooked pistol...

I have just bought a Steyr M-A1. I have alot more long gun experience than pistol experience but that is about to change! I am a very tall guy with huge hands. The M-A1 was the 9mm that fit my paws the best. I hope to fire the pistol this weekend.

I re-shot my A1 series video dealing with the myth on the lockup. Stay tuned as it uploads. I will reiterate my findings in text format in here as well again.

Hi! Today at the end of my training M9-A1 refused to reset. After I came home, I noticed that catch (nr 10 on parts diagram) would not come up to catch the firing pin. When I fully disassembled the frame, I have noticed that one of the tails of catch spring (part number 12) was broken. In total...

Attended a pistol class 4-6-13. The class was given by 914 Consulting at C2Shootng and it was a Vickers Shooting Method class. The class was great, the Steyr not so much. It started off fine, you know the drill. You are the only guy that shows up with "the other Austrian Pistol". Had a custom...

I've never really concerned myself with my M9-A1's history or rather background, I just assumed it was a Steyr like MANY others and that all the #'s matched up (frame, slide and barrel) Well, scrolling thru some old posts I find a reference to "FrankenSteyr" after some research I've learned my...

What would you like to tell them about the A1 pistols that you don't like? For me it would have to be the ability of the gun's slide to be pushed slightly back when cocked. By the way, have new production guns been cured of this ill? I know there's a fix here for it but I am wondering if Steyr...

Has Steyr, do they, or anyone know if in future products that Steyr make a 9mm Carbine? by that I mean one similar to what Caracal is now doing with the CC10 9mm carbine that takes the same mags as the C/F pistols. What I want is a 9mm carbine from Steyr that will take the 17rd mags from my C9...

I was "lucky" enough to score 2 boxes of 50rds each (100rds total) of Winchester SXZ 9mm Luger 115gr FMJ Flat Nose "Training". Has anyone else had experience with this ammo? My M9-A1 ran great and all but as I was disassembling it to clean it tonite, I noticed it was extremely dirty after...

Greetings from Northern VA. Finally got on board with an SA-1 and M-A1 in .40S&W. Had them at the NRA HQ range last week for break in, and even getting used to the trap sights, was suitably impressed by their performance. The M40-A1 is by far my favorite pistol these days, even after only...
