I emailed Talon last night and mentioned that I was dissapointed that they have not made grips fro the MA-1. The sent me back a grip request and suggested I fill it out. Presumably once they receive enough request for the same model, they will start production. SO I decided to post the link here...

Hey y'all! I bumped into a Steyr S9-A1 at a gun show and started investigating because it just felt so danged good in my hand. Eventually I made up my mind I wanted a C9-A1 because of the hi-cap mags. I called SAI, distributors, dealers that had Steyrs in old listings. None. Zip. Nada Finally...

I've had my C40 A1 for several months and put about 200 rounds through it without a hang up. Am I missing something, don't see much stuff about the C, mostly S and M versions. I personally like the longer grip and since I'm a newby don't miss the longer barrel of the M.

Installing the hammer and hammer springs on the Steyr GB can be challenging because each hammer spring must be wound and its fixed (hooked) end inserted into a cavity in the underside of the sear (Figure 1). This can be done using some thin steel wire, a hook tool or dental pick, and a flat...

I recently came across these pictures of an m9-a1 with what looks to be a reversible mag catch. I know this is available on the new L9 pistols, but was unaware of them on the m9. I don't really need this feature(being right handed), but the larger catch is nice). Anyone ever seen this before?

I searched "drop free" in this forum but came up craps. Any suggestions on making these mags drop free like my glocks? I had some serious trouble yesterday at our local IDPA match. Had to "rip" the mag out every damm time.

Hi, folks. I've been a long-time owner of the Steyr M -- I have two M40s that I got right after they came out. But over the years I have moved away from the .40 and now in autos I shoot mainly 9mm and .45. I've sold off most of my .40s but it has occurred to me that since I really like the...

Being a wimp with small hands, both the weight and the grip size of the M9A1 as well as the short reset is great for me. But what kills me is the trigger pull weight of 25N, while it breaks clean my finger just struggles to produce the amount of force. Is it even technically possible to get it...

Hey all. Was cruising the net when I stumbled upon this site. I love it already! It is full of handy information!

Happy Memorial Day! I'm having a dis-assembly problem with my M40 handgun while trying to remove the sub frame from the polymer grip. I can't get the manual safety engagement pin to come out. I've followed the online sub frame removal tutorial to the letter I believe and still can't get it to...

Hi! Today I want to share a simple homemade mag release extension that I did recently. After starting shooting in IPSC, I have noticed that I need to adjust a grip to drop the mag. I looked into different possibilities to extend the mag release button. Results are shown on photos below. I have...

New M9 owner here checking in. I got my Frankensteyr in a trade. Wasn't what I was looking for, but I'm happy the opportunity arose. Looking forward to some range time to see how much I like the sights. I'm an M&P owner, so the grip and mag catch are taking some getting used to, but nothing a...

Today I was able to take my Taurus TCP out for a spin, and I must say she handles like a dream. Between me, my wife, and a friend of mine, the little TCP shot 80 rounds of cheap Russian ammo ($8 for a box of 50), and 50 American Eagle (or some such) flawlessly! I had no failures to feed or to...

This may be a stupid question, but it seems stupid to me that owners should have to spend money to fill that ugly hole thats still there once the mag is inserted.. Is there any reason that they were manufactured like this?

Just curious I bought a M40 A-1 today at local gunshot. I have owned a M40 for quite a while and noticed the M40 a-1 doesn't have the loaded chamber indicator. The instruction manual indicates it should have one so I am a bit confused. I knew the manual safety was gone and the addition of the...

Alright so I just picked up a new M9-A1 date of manufacture was March 2013 and it is an SAI import not a frakenstyer from what I can tell. I had an early s40 ages ago and loved it but sold it to pay for school I have now replaced it with this new m9-a1. I am curious as I am having dreaded...
