Hello, I just purchased a M40 Steyr And was wanting to know what the best ammo is to use in this ?
  3. Steyrs for Sale
Hello, thanks for joining us; I have for consideration a Steyr M40-A1 with five of the 12-round factory magazines, case with brushes, Steyr manual of some kind, and 335 rounds of high-quality hollowpoints. 300 rounds Federal 180gr HST, and 35 rounds Hornady 180gr. All ammunition comes in the...

Hi everyone, first post here - thought I'd attempt to be helpful rather than lurking about (as I'm used to). Hopefully this conversation instigates a better understanding of these extraction issues. I recently had a conversation via email with Jeff about extraction issues. His concluding...
  5. Steyrs for Sale
I have for sale a Steyr M9A1 9mm, like NIB, only 50 rds. thru it, comes with a NIB Streamlight TLR-1 HL (630 lumens), and an RP Concealment Kydex light bearing holster for both. Comes with box, 2) 17 rd. magazines, all paperwork. Gun fuctions flawlessly and is a match grade tack driver. Has the...

I also noticed that the strike was more off center then I would have imagined. Other than that the pistol has fired flawlessly. NOT that I believe it did but COULD the BT striker cups have aided or caused the light primer strike?

As the title states, I put about 300 rounds through the new gen M9A1 and the casings eject directly to the face. This doesn't happen every shot but maybe 3 out of 10 and certainly is ammo related. Was curious if any of the owners of the new gen m9a1 has had this issue? Thanks.

What sort of price, regular gun store price, is the new L9 going for? I am not interested in Gunbroker offerings and their usual silly asking prices. Also, who has them in stock now? Have not seen any yet in Utah, USA.

  10. Caracal C and F Series
After traffic slowed down a bit, it seems the sister forum for Caracal pistols has been inundated with spam bots. Going through that site is now like walking through the remains of a town that's been bombed to hell and back; to find anything useful, or even remotely recognizable, you have to...

I just picked up my first Steyr pistol from Cabela's in Owatonna, Minnesota - an M9-A1. I actually traded my Sig P229 .40 S&W for the M9. Date code is LWR - Feb 2013, so fairly new production. I came across the Steyr after researching the Caracal and learned that they were designed by the same...

As I mentioned elsewhere, because I've moved away from the .40 caliber, I am hoping to trade my M40s for M9s once the classified section is working again. In the meantime, I've sold off a couple of other guns, and so I decided to modernize the Steyr collection: Yesterday I picked up an M9-A1...

For the most part the brass skims just over the top of my head, but sometimes... it doesn`t. The picture above is from my L9A1 ejecting spent brass directly back at my face; this particular little bugger landed directly between my temple and the arm of my eyepro and happily sat there until I...

Hi, folks. I've been a long-time owner of the Steyr M -- I have two M40s that I got right after they came out. But over the years I have moved away from the .40 and now in autos I shoot mainly 9mm and .45. I've sold off most of my .40s but it has occurred to me that since I really like the...

Hey Gang, I know there are probably hundreds of threads about carry ammo on here, but I can't seem to find any information on Hornady Critical Duty 9mm +P. I was told by a coworker that the Critical Duty (CD) are longer bullets and that guns with shorter feed ramps have a hard time cycling...

Here's the set-up. Steyr M357-A1, excellent condition. Functions 100% in every way - but one. Georgia Arms Canned Heat factory reloaded .357 SIG FMJ ammo. When fired, somewhere through a magazine, the gun will begin producing light primer strikes to the point it will not fire. Gun field...

Hi there, My eldest daughter loves my M40-A1 but does not like the recoil. So this weekend she bought an 2004 M9 at the local gun show. We took it home and I showed her how to clean and lube it. We fired it at the range today. She loves it, but with all three mags. the slide would not lock open...

Greetings from smokey Colorado. After trying out a friends Steyr, I found and purchased a used M9-A1 at the gun show this past January as my first ever handgun. I love the gun, but I have had numerous extraction failures. It seemed to be mostly linked to the remanufactured bulk ammo I had...

Does anyone else get a dark carbon streak on one side of their brass almost the entire length of the case after firing? I was just wondering if this is a common occurrence with the M9 or if it is just mine. Or maybe it's from the ammo I'm using.
