Taurus 24/7 Pro
Does anyone have any experience with the Taurus 24/7 Pro ? I'm interested in the 40 S&W, but experiences with any caliber are welcome. Second hand information is OK too. The reviews are positive and the price is certainly right. I know it probably isn't quite on par with an M40 A1, but it holds 15+1 rounds and it's got a lifetime warranty from Taurus.

Re: Taurus 24/7 Pro
Thanks for the info ! We've got a gun show in Houston tomorrow and I'll check it out. Heck, if I just knew for sure when (if) Steyr was coming out with higher capapcity mags, I'd just buy a barrel and slide for my M357 A1.

If you want to go .40, all you need is the barrel from SAI, your slide will work fine with either 357 Sig or .40 S&W.
If you want higher capacity mags now for your M357-A1, which will fit either 357 Sig or .40, we have a member you can contact about that. He doesn't advertise his expertise in that area, but if you send him a PM he will probably respond. This reluctant unnamed genius goes by *Cough! (wulf) *Cough!
As for Taurus, I have no experience to share.

Thanks for the info! I assumed you needed to replace both barrel and slide to go from 357 Sig to 40 S&W. If the outer dimensions are the same, then I guess the 357 Sig barrel must be a little thicker than the 40.
As for higher capacity Steyr slides, I traded messages with *Cough! (wulf) *Cough a while back. I converted the S&W Sigma magazines to functionally work with my M357 A1. However the mag base plate looked like a hack job. My aesthetic sensibility was wounded so I never used used the converted Sigma mags except for a couple of times at the range.
I believe *Cough! (wulf) *Cough was actually working with an engineer at Steyr to develop higher capacity mags. I wonder if he knows anything about the two 17 rounders that were used as donation fodder.

Re: Taurus 24/7 Pro
The stainless mag at right in the double-carrier at right is a Sigma/wulf.

And that's a Sigma/wulf 15-rd. mag sticking a bit out of the grip on my M357-A1 at bottom right.

Maybe it won't win a beauty contest but it not only looks fine to me, it holds 15 rounds, which is 3 better than 12, according to my slow math. And it works just fine, too. And I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that wulf had a hand in those 17-rd. 9mm mags forthcoming from Steyr.

Are the base plates on your Sigma conversions the modified Sigma base plates ? They look taller than the Sigma base plates to me.
