Learning to live with SAO has caused me some difficulty. Mostly because I didn't realize how much muscle memory we have. From the trigger pull of the Steyr, to the muscle memory of firing a 357 2.5" Python, things linger. Things that make us miss the target, or get poorer scores than we otherwise would.

I realized that I was still firing as if I were strong-handing a 357 magnum. Even when I had the isosceles triangle stance, I was unconsciously aligning the gun along the axis of my right arm. So I made a small stance adjustment. The results speak for themselves.

the holster and mag carrier rig is made by Bucheimer Clark. it's made of really heavy, quality leather and fits the pistol like a glove. this rig came with my 'park' finished GB.

Hey guys, i'm looking for a target pistol to get into some local competitions a LGS has started. Don't know a whole lot about these things but what i have deduced from tons of articles on the internets is that everyone has their own favorite way of doing things. I can imagine barrel length and trigger pull weight have the largest effect on how accurately one of these pistol can be fired freehanded. also i think i would like something that can be easily customized so a plethora of accessories is a must.

Babj got to me and I decided to give Kahr another try. My local shop had a used CW40 sitting int the case for $350 and I looked at it every time I went in. I finally offered to trade him for my P64 and all of my 9x18 practice ammo. I put 150 rounds through it over the weekend and found it to be easily managed and quite accurate for it's size. I found the Hornady 155 gr XTP ammo to be the perfect balance between accuracy, recoil and power. They feed well in the gun and eject regularly in a nice neat pile.

No real point to this post, it's just always nice to post pics of a new gun :p

I hit the competition field yesterday with my 75B. 4 stages of USPSA classifier at the Arrowhead Gun Club outside of Bryan/College Station, TX.

First the bad news, the gun doesn't make shots for me. Just like the Steyr, it continues to do exactly what I tell it to do. Hell of a note!

The good news, the gun shoots so much better than I am that it's unbelievable. When I did my job, the hits were alphas. I ran the fastest string I've ever shot. The string was in the top 10 of the match - the bad news was I was hitting, just barely, no-shoots, and gaining penalties which were nuking my efforts.

One other thing, after shooting DAO for almost 2 years, it takes more than two weeks of practice to remember to take the safety off, before trying to shoot. It happened 3, count 'em, 3 times! Adrenaline makes fools of us all.

I'll be removing the firing pin blocking cam, as I've already removed the firing pin blocker. This will shorten the reset on the trigger even more. Wow, what a gun!

Net, net, I'm delighted in my gun, but I will be doing serious dry fire practice prior to my next match. I must say, I did miss old '692 (M40-A1), when the timer went off.

Those of you who regularly visit the Club will already know that I sold my M40-A1 to acquire the funds for a new competition gun. At the time, I thought I would buy a cz-75 TS, but wisdom pointed out that having a world-class Limited pistol, wouldn't necessarily make me a world class shooter, and that I was unlikely to be invited to shoot Super Senior with the USA IPSC team. Sooo, I bought this beauty.
It's a 75B with a SAO trigger job done by Angus Hobdell's crew at CZ Custom, who also installed the competition rear and fiber optic front sight. I bought a competition hammer with short trigger spurs to match the trigger and installed it.
<a href="http://www.steyrclub.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=1192" title="Name:

What can I say, the trigger pull is like glass, some light stacking at the sweet spot, then breaks like a glass rod. I'm slowly working on shortening the reset. The trigger has both over-travel and reset adjustments. The difference between tuning the Steyr trigger and the 75B is that you are really doing gun-smithing with the 75B, a 0.001" at a time.

The target is the first 14 rounds at 7 yards semi-rapid fire. It shoots real good like!<a href="http://www.steyrclub.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=1187" title="Name:

Hi Folks,

I just bought a Styer GB. Serial number starts in the mid 6's, so I think it is mid production. It has the military finish, greenish color no crinkle finish. But no spur hammer and has nylon trigger guard. Could be some one
stripped it and parked it.

I found it at Cabela's of all places for under $450. Has one mag. I couldn't believe my eye's!!

We took out to the range and it is a tack driver. Way better firearm than I am a shooter and no bigger than a 92F.
The only issues are virtually no parts available ( need some machinist to step up and start making a few!!). And cleaning the barrel.

O.K my question is . How do you remove the firing pin? I am thinking it has to do with the de-cocking lever, but not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

hey guys, i am thinking of getting a second gun to have along with my steyr. I would love to get some of your expertise on this. I think i would want poly frame but a steel is not out of the question. has to be 9mm, good ergos, low recoil. It would be nice to have a bit longer barrel. I now most of you are yankees so what ever it cost there i would be $200 to $300 more here. Budget would be no more than $700. Or should i wait to see if we get the Caracal. I have looked at Glock 17, cz shadow, cz tt9, bul cherokee, sr9.:salute:

I've almost got enough saved to buy one of these and am wondering if anyone's actually handled one yet. It's got an ambi-safety for lefties like me and supposedly 80% of the parts are interchangeable with standard 1911 parts. Supposedly, you can turn it into a .45ACP 1911 for less than what a .22 conversion kit costs for a .45 1911. The barrel comes pre-threaded for suppressors and comes with an adapter so the barrel doesn't have to protrude from the frame like the Sig Mosquito's does.

I love the look and feel of a 1911 but just can't justify the initial cost nor the cost of ammo. With these being in the low 300's and firing the single most economical cartridge available, it's hard to justify not getting one.
