Steyr Date code taken from the S-A1 parts diagram.
uhhh...and your point is?
What can your Bros help ya with?
Wulf <-- musta missed somethin'...again!
I think he was just reposting it because we keep seeing questions about what lot various pistols are from. The date code is yet another way for new members to verify that a pistol they are looking at is of recent manufacture and should come with the "enhancements" that Steyr made last year.
I just figured anyone looking on GB could quickly determine the age with this post.
I just used it myself to figure out the date for one marked COM (Oct 2005).
Mine has the "enhancements", however, date code is CW0 or CWO. O or 0, either way, it doesnt match the chart anymore.
cwo = oct 2010
this is marked on the upper? about 7/16 of an inch after the serial number ?
in fact there is 2 strange inscriptions between the serial number and this date code. what are those ?
Unless I'm mistaken, the date-code chart is universal to most Steyr firearms. I ran the datecode "NDD" which came out to March '99...which seemed about right for the Scout...
